Keynote speaking engagement (Toronto)
Dr. Debbie Smrz is the Founder and Medical Director of Naturopathic Living, a multidisciplinary clinic in Ontario with a team of 11 practitioners. She delivers research-driven presentations on the physiology of brain longevity, aging, and cognitive lifespan.
Her work integrates neuroscience, hormonal signaling, metabolic health, and longevity science — translating complex biology into practical frameworks that protect cognitive function across decades.
Dr. Debbie Smrz challenges the conventional separation of mental health and brain physiology, reframing mood, fatigue, and cognitive decline as biological processes that influence long-term brain aging.
How estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and cortisol shape decision-making, memory, and emotional regulation across the lifespan.
The neurological and metabolic mechanisms behind chronic stress — and how to restore resilience at the cellular level.
Practical frameworks for maintaining cognitive sharpness, metabolic health, and physical performance through perimenopause and beyond.
How chronic activation of the sympathetic nervous system disrupts sleep, metabolism, and long-term health — and what to do about it.
Navigating hormonal transitions, cognitive load, and workplace performance with science-backed strategies.
The connection between blood sugar regulation, insulin sensitivity, and cognitive performance in high-stress environments.

Outside of work, Dr. Smrz can usually be found on a rugby pitch, at the gym, or out adventuring with her family and dog. Movement and community are central to her life.
She has coached youth rugby for over a decade and sits on the board of the Markham Irish Rugby Club. Rugby has shaped her approach to leadership, resilience, and showing up for people — lessons she carries into her clinical work.
Dr. Smrz has also been a group fitness instructor for more than 20 years. Teaching Body Combat and Body Pump remains one of her favourite parts of the week. She enjoys motivating people, helping them see what they're capable of — and inspiring just a little more sweat than they thought they had in them.
